Christmas cards are a wonderful expression of thoughtfulness. They can be humorous, religious, elegant or child-like. The possibilities are limitless and can sometimes be overwhelming when trying to select the perfect card to send to friends and loved ones.…
There are a couple of ways to go. For one, the cards can be made on a personal computer and printed out. There are several programs available, as well as on-line templates. Some families chose the cute route of super-imposing their faces on dancing elves, while others make their cards more meaningful by simply typing a special note for their recipients.
However, computer generated cards are not everyone's preference. Some may prefer to make their Christmas cards by hand. These can be constructed from mere construction paper to elegant decorative paper. Writing in calligraphy or painting the pictures and words is creative and meaningful to all who will receive the special card. If you have children, this can be especially enjoyable for them. Try painting their hand green, pressing it on a piece of paper, and repeating several times in a downward motion. This will create the appearance of a full fir tree. Once dried, allow your child to decorate with glitter, paint, or whatever craft materials you have on hand. Little hand Christmas trees are a great hit and make for cards to cherish years later.
If you don't have human children, pets can also get into the homemade card spirit. If your cat or dog will allow, paint the surface of their paws and pat it on the paper. This can make cute snowflake designs with a personalized touch from the family pet.
However you decide to spread the joy this holiday season, be creative and have fun!
