An education from an online college is not an easy ride, but people should be aware there are scammers out there as with many sites on the internet. Almost all of the online college sites are legitimate and will cost the student a pretty penny, though not as much as attending a traditional college because there is no gas money involved, no lab fees and no student activities fees.
Receiving an education online from is no different from receiving an education at a tradition college or university. There are still textbooks to buy and read, tests to be taken, lectures given via webcams and one on one access to a professor when the student needs to ask questions or needs clarification on assignments.
Online schools require a bit more concentration because the student can easily get distracted since he or she is sitting at home with the television or radio in the same room. However, for many they are a convenient low-cost way to get or further an education. Online coursework is easy to work in around busy family or work schedules and more and more employers are becoming open to the idea of hiring someone with an online degree.
