One of the largest fields of teaching kids that continues to grow today is teaching children with autism. Autistic children need special care and need to be taught in a way that speaks to their issues because of their learning curve and perception issues. Children with autism have trouble learning and expressing their emotions through speech because of speech processing problems.

Teaching kids also involves teaching them how to participate in games and play nicely with their peers. When children are growing up, especially the preschool and kindergarten years, children need to understand how important it is to play nicely with others, learn the rules of games and accept that cheating is not acceptable.

Children get the itch to read at a young age and need all the help they can get from their parents, grandparents, older siblings, teachers and friends with sounding out words and forming sentences. Math skills are vitally important to a child's learning process. Learning how to add, subtract, divide and multiply are the building blocks of the foundation for a strong understanding of the subject.
