Though buyer beware not all gadgets are created equal and not all gadgets are sold at a low price. As geek culture goes further mainstream, more and more gadgetry is on the market. Technological advances in robotics can make for some pretty expensive toys. Gadgets are also popular at office gift exchanges as many of the inexpensive devices can be used as business tools, such as electronic pens, clocks and even desktop air conditioners. Gadgets are popular with high school and college students who use the portable devices as distractions from class. Many gadgets are available for purchase online, but are also on the shelves of most stores that carry gifts and toys. Most gadgets are powered by batteries and are made of plastic.
