Science is a discipline that should be appreciated as much as possible. Why? What other discipline keeps the world going. Ok, besides economics, science keeps everyone and everything constantly interacting with each other. Considering everything from the human body to the latest and greatest technology, it all entails science. Even the way the basic unit of economics, money, is made involves science.

With the advancements being made every day to simplify life, the field of science is becoming more vital to society's needs. For instance, there is a dire need to combat global warming, find better alternatives to oil, and improve medical interventions for various illnesses. In order for any country to succeed, the field of science has to remain a priority, especially in education. Science is a very broad subject that encompasses many subareas such as biology, chemistry, physics, and neuroscience.

Although interesting and always needed, science isn't very popular among people to study. Why? Well one of the reasons is when people think of scientists, most people think of a nerdy, geek who wears thick soda bottle glasses. You know, the person who no one wants to be associated with. Not to say those types aren't around, but it isn't the only "look" for a scientist. There are scientists who work in environments that wear everything from your regular jeans and a shirt to sporting classy business suits and dress shoes. By the way, the soda bottle glasses may be traded in for contacts or even corrective eye techniques so that you don't have to wear contacts…it's just a suggestion. Another reason is due to the mentality that science is difficult. No matter what field of study a person ventures into, hard work is bound to be experienced. With determination and persistence, anything is possible, even understanding quantum physics.

Science can also be a fun learning experience. For instance, there are many simple, harmless experiments that can be done at home to better understand the interesting dynamics that occur, such as an experiment performed with baking soda and vinegar to see carbon dioxide (the bubbles) being released. Of course, you should always take the proper precautions before attempting to perform any experiments. If successfully done, not only will you have learned in an exciting way, but you would have also gained a better appreciation for the discipline.
