Business travel has become increasingly popular as the world population grows and foreign business markets open up all over the globe. Because business travel is so common, many airlines have programs to benefit those who use their services on a regular basis. With the invention of the frequent flyer airline miles, business travel has become more economically friendly.
Frequent flyer miles are normally based on customer loyalty meaning the more miles a customer flies with that airline the more frequent flyer miles they earn to use towards free travel.
Another common practice for business travel is the use of credit cards, which can offer rewards for the amount and price of purchases made with the card. Points redeemable sometimes add up to air miles, similar to that of the Frequent Flyer Program or to points they can redeem for material goods. In most cases, however, points are subject to expiration dates if not used within a specific period of time.
While many travelers are becoming accustomed to using the self-booking tools made available through the Internet; those who travel for work are still very reliant on business travel agencies, who can help simplify the process of booking a variety of frequent trips and destinations.
